Re: Brugge bar question

That's just the problem Filip. Lots of tourist come to Brugge to enjoy the beer. The quality of the beer is mainly the work of the brewer, not the pub owner. What we, as beer enthousiasts and good pub owner must do, is present those high quality beers in the best possible circumstances. It's a major part of your job as a pub owner to pour the beer the right way and in the proper glass. If you can't do that you shouln't run a café. It's as simple as that.

If you tap your pils wrongly, you can taste it. If you pour your high fermentation bottled beers wrongly, you can SURELY taste it. The problem with lots of Brugian café's is that they only see the commercial benefits of putting lots of beers on their lists. Those "stupid" tourists don't know anything about it anyway.

As I said on these pages before: running a real beer pub requiers first of all respect for the product you're selling and respect for your customer by presenting the beer as perfect as possible, not the amount of beers on your list!

And by the way; someone advertising on a blackboard outside with:"if you want a beer, have it here", that's a bit low, isn't it?
