Re: Belgium trip

Thanks Cornelia, glad you didn't get bored reading it. Yeah, I just loved Poperinge and the Hotel Palace. Unfortunately the Palace's beer fest is only a week before our CAMRA Birkenhead beer festival so no way can we go.

We need to save our money for the 24 uur in November anyway.

The hostess of the Posterie was pleasant enough, but after we pointed out her huge mark up on the Malheur she went into a rant about all the taxes she had to pay. I'm sure this rings a bell, there were several posts a few weeks back about running a bar in Belgium.

Dave couldn't keep his mouth shut about the Courage Russian Imperial Stout either.

As soon as we got back, he wrote an article for our local CAMRA website about Belgian beer based loosly on our trip . He blabbed about the stout so our secret is not safe.

If you want to read Dave's article you can find it under "articles" on www.camrawirral.co.uk. Bearin mind though it is very simplistic as many of our members have never set foot in Belgium or drunk Belgian beers.

Cheers,

Jean H
