Re: Drinking in Ghent - Prices?

Bruski, I would echo a lot of what Bill says, i.e. that Gent is a great place to drink beer with many excellent cafes, and the town itself is a very pleasant place to spend a few days.

However, in terms of your actual question, i.e. is it or is it not more expensive (for beer) IMO it is without doubt the most expensive city in Belgium that I have been in (and I have been in a few!). And I would say it is more expensive by quite a long way, so pack plenty of euros when you visit. However, don't let that put you off, cos it is well worth a visit.

Cheers,

Jeremy
