Re: Liege: travel help request

I've been in Liège last year, for three days, staying at the Holiday Inn. I thought it was an OK town, nice pedestrian streets, shops, squares,...When it gets dark it gets indeed a more grimy character, with lots of young guys "gang-like" hanging out on the streets.

I liked the cosy Irish Pub Le Shamrock, on the corner of Rue Louvrex and Rue st. Gilles. Beerlist isn't that long, but they had Triple Moine, Moinette, Val-dieu, (all in 75cl)and more of those nice ones.

Le vaudree ll is just around the corner, has the longest beerlist I've seen, but lacks any cozyness. It's just a clean-sterile-hospital-looking place, where I didn't feel comfortable.

Le pére Levée must be quite good, according too locals we spoke with, but was closed at the time we were there.

I remember there was a fine Indian restaurant as well, Kashmir, in a small pedestrian street, Rue Saint-Jean-en-Isle.

Have you visited the city's official website www.liege.be?

Hope have a pleasant stay.
