Sorry Dick, definitely have to agree to disagree on this one!!

Dave, definitely do not rule out going to Belgium in the winter. You want a beer trip, right? Well, its not as if Belgium is at the north pole or anything. Hence, even in deepest winter, Belgium has daylight from just before 9am to approx 4.30pm. Plenty of time for outdoor sightseeing.

And when you're done sightseeing, you have all evening to enjoy Belgium's great cosy winter bars. They are at their best in winter - especially world classic bars like 't Brugs Beertje and the Kulminator. I have been in both in the winter and in the summer, and there's something about the winter atmosphere that is very hard to explain, but which is particulary wonderful. A cosy Belgian beer cafe in the winter is fab, and comes highly recommended.

And, as Mike said, you get winter beers if you come in December or January. Yes, Belgium is great in the summer, but please don't be put off from coming in the winter.

Cheers,

Jeremy

PS And don't forget the possibility of frozen canals in Brugge or Gent - they are a great sight!!
