Re: Novice travelling to Belgium....

No doubt Eric, your experience and what your tour can offer is both impressive and tempting. But like anything else, I would have to gather all this information, and do a little side research to come to a final conclussion. Knowing my nature though, I will most likely go without a tour and attempt to contact those breweries I want to visit myself. As difficult as that might be (and it might not lead me to see half as much) its a bit more satisfying. And as I believe Mark said, I would want to see some of the most interesting breweries to me (i.e., Fantome, Cantillon, etc.). I don't need a tour to show me the way to the best beers or just to wonder about town. How many beer bars can I actually take in anyway without overdoing it. I want to soak up as much as possible, and would rather not do a fly by night visit. You know the type...we have 1.5 hours here before having to move on to the next place. Im actually pretty good at doing that myself. But when it comes to a place like Belgium, I think I would rather take the more relaxed approach. I might not get to visit every place, but then I'll have something to look forward to the next time.

Thanks for all the info.

Cheers

Dave
