Carlton Hotel/Drie Fonteinen Framboos

Posted by Martin Self on 09/05/2004 05:51:17 PM

Hi Jeremy,

The Carlton Hotel is located on Koningin Astridlaan, about 3 mins from St Peters Station, so it is good for the station but not so good for the City Centre. It was 80 euros a night for a twin including breakfast, all rooms have a bath and shower. That price may be discounted because of a 5 night stay.

We arrived at the Hop Duvel at approximately 2000 and that would explain why straight away they knew that they were out of Drie Fonteinen Framboos. Oh dear If I close my eyes I think I can recall the taste from the last time I had some…..{;-))……

I haven’t actually done any beer festivals but from reading the various reports I think it is probably time I made the effort. Unfortunately I usually rely on long weekends for my trips and these invariably do not clash with festivals but I shall peruse my diary.

Glad you enjoyed the report as the only draw back with Belgium is all those long names……….

Cheers

Martin.
