Re: Places to eat in Gent

For me, the best place to eat and drink beer in Ghent is the Belga Queen, Graslei 10, tel 09 280 01 00. It is housed in Het Spijker, the oldest building on the "world's most beautiful quay", alongside the city's oldest harbour. The Belga Queen is an excellent and most interesting restaurant, its food being complemented by a very respectable list of beers and wines.

The interior is spectacular; don't miss the sit down toilets upstairs; outside they have see through doors, which become opaque when you close the door! It is great for wine lovers too, all the wines (from around the world) coming from Belgian-owned vineyards, which include some of the biggest names in the wine world.

There is Boon Lambic on draught.

I have full details in my downloadable guide to Ghent, obtainable from http://www.whitebeertravels.com/downloads .
