Pain Quotidien - is this related to the one in Brussels? The one in Brussels has a very good reputation and has appeared on some food travel shows.

I had a very good meal at Erasmus, and some of the plates going to other tables looked even better. Wish I'd dropped a few more Euros for a better appetizer, as the fish soup that came with my price fixe menu was good but not anything special.

I also enjoyed a good lunch at Taverne Curiosa and loved the atmosphere. And a great railway lunch of sausage, cheese and bread from a little deli whose name I can't remember.

I went to eat lunch at Vlaamse Pot, but it turned out to be the one day of the week they were closed. Another lunch at Mozartzhuis (I think) was good but very overpriced. This place seemed geared toward tourists, but I was about to drop from hunger and didn't feel like hunting for lunch as it was my first meal after coming over from London. There stone-grilled menu looked good, but was even more overpriced than the stoovflees I ordered.

I hope to return to Bruges within the year, so I'll keep your recommendations in mind.
