If you decide to drive, I would recommend one accessory that saved us a bunch of time, which was used to taste beer! That is a GPS with map software for Belgium. It was uncanny how accurate these things are (I never travel by car without mine). It took us right to places like Soy (Bonjour Dany!) and to Pipaix (Hi Jean-Luis!). Borrow one and buy the European maps if you have to.

We were very careful about having a designated driver. There were 4 of us and we worked that out in advance.

You don't want to have to blow BOB during your trip. (BOB is the acronym for Belgium's DUI enforcent program)
