Bob,

Cities don't count - they suck everywhere. Ever driven in Boston during rush hour? New York? Cities, by their thickly settled nature - are aweful when you dont know how to get around and traffic is heavy.

As for the rest of it, an eye for detail is just about always required when driving abroad. Also, having a passenger to act as a dilagent navigator is important. Anne and I have always made a great driving team. I play the automotively aggressive guy, she's on the map like pediocacaus on fresh lambic. After observing Dan find the way to Chevy Chase Liquors last January I have no doubt he's up for the task.
