Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

I just really like the work levifunk is doing!

Oregon Hop Madness

This is getting to be a great event, does anything similar go on anywhere else in the US?

Ha! Hey Perk! Actually I'm trying to do something similar but on a much smaller scale and not hop specific. I'm hoping to get a bunch of us together at the next Oregon beer fest to share east/west homebrewing perspectives. Still making beer?

If you're able to get to the Madness, by allmeans hit it up. It's an event I've helped put on in the years past and is a great oppurtunity to see who's brewing out there. We typically have an attendance around 100. It's just a small, unsponsered, homebrew gathering. It does keep growing each year, but I know we have no real desire to get any kind of sponsership, etc. Just homebrewers getting together and showcasing their best. The focus is more on the hoppy styles because of the hop harvest and fresh hops in the filed to pick from, but there are beers of all types that make it out there. Some folks even brew fresh hop beers while out there.

Unfortunatley, i can't make it this year. I goofed and scheduled a family vacation that weekend, didn't have the Madness on the calendar when doing the vac. scheduling.

Re: Oregon Hop Madness

Hey! It's "M" from Portland....

Been busy this summer, working a lot.....Major bummer!

My Roch 10 took a nose dive....My 6 year old decided to take the fermentation lock off and throw rubber bugs into the carboy.... of course, I didn;t notice until it was too late...

I keep trying to get to Hop Madness but never make it!

Next year for sure! Don't know if I want to bring a pot and make a beer or bring the hops home and do it... I may want get some guys together and build a portable bar for the event! My old club in CA had a ready made bar and taps for HB festivals, gathers, parties and the like... Thought of trying t get some guys together and put something together, maybe make a little outdoor HOP lounge with flowing taps, seats, tables and the like....

I was talking about that last week, that I would like to do up something for next years HM. The bar idea is a good one.

as far as brewing a the site, I don't bother. To much trouble in my opinion. Alot of people do it, but I just pick a ton of fresh hops then brew at home when I get back.

Are you heading down to NCHF this year?
