Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Brett beer
My first brett brew is in the seconday. Initially, one half of my 10g batch tasted better than the other. That half seems to be going south. It has a harshness about it. The taste seems to have a funky grainy quality to it now.

The other half seemed rather bland. I bought some lacto for it. After adding oak, dried sour cherries, and using a plastic bucket for seconday, this brew is really coming along. A slight tart cherry quality, and lots of great brett tartness. It may well be one of my, if not my, best brews to date. So no lacto seems to be needed with this half.

So in an effort to experiment and maybe give the other half someething that could save it, I added the lacto to it. Time will tell if that does much to to improve it it.

I just find it interesting that the exact same beer can go drastically two different ways.

Re: Brett beer
Sweasty, brett beer is a marathon, not a sprint. Aspects like harshness and blandness can change markly over time, I recommend against judging it at all or making adjustments based on its character going into secondary.
