Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Flavoured sugar
I saw a cookery show where a guy made a flavoured sugar by simply storing a vanilla bean inside a mason jar filled with sugar for a week or so.

I thought was an interesting idea for brewing. Has anyone tried anything similar?

Re: Flavoured sugar
I've made perpetual vanilla for years by taking a vanilla bean and putting it in a small bottle filled with vodka. You use what you need and top it back up with vodka...it keeps making more and vodka is a lot cheaper than any vanilla extract or buying a new vanilla bean each time you need it.

cheers, scamborn
