Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Sugar Swap details
Hey folks

are we doing these in each separate group or coordinating somehow?

Is the Old Ale group settled on a date yet?

Re: Sugar Swap details
Good topic, as most of you know between surgery and kicking the BBB back into full gear I've been pretty distracted for some time. Can someone from each group summerize where we are? I can start.

The mild group has all the beer elements ready to go, we just need to plan it. One of us got a late start and of course I could not have been any more of a bottleneck. JimK is vacationing now or very soon, hopefully discussing a date will happen the first week of March. We plan to take an interesting twist, Jim, Al and I will try to be at one location, connecting in the chatroom with hey_kevin.

Re: Sugar Swap details
Ryan,

As far as I know, the old ale people had not settled on a date, yet. I think it was Scott J that had some stuff going on from 2/10 to somewhere around 2/23. I had been waiting until around 2/23 to bring the topic back up so we could get a date finalized.

Re: Sugar Swap details
The golden strong group is tentatively planned for either Monday March 3rd or Tuesday March 4th. It looking like my potential conflict will not be that week, so I'm pretty sure I can make either of those dates. I don't belive the time has been finalized.

Thanks Scott,

I didn't know if we had a date after the 23rd or not.

I'll have my ears open.

Re: Sugar Swap details
If you guys (Old Ale Crew)go with 3March that would be the same day as our (Golden Strong) planned time. We would be competeing for the chat room, no?

Re: Sugar Swap details

Bitter crew. Is 3/3 doable and how many bottles. Also, 1 to SteveG and Brian Mercer?

Cheers

N8 has a good point people. We probably shouldn't all flood the chatroom

Old Aler's: How about March 4 instead?

Re: Sugar Swap details
Old Ale people...3/4 sounds good to me. The main issue we will have is the actual time. I happen to be on the west coast and we have 2 people on the east coast and one in Colorado which, I believe, is 1 hour ahead of me. (2 hours behind east coast). Due to work scheduling, the earliest I can meet up with y'all is 5:00pm pacific time. That puts the timing around 8:00pm or later in the east. So, with me, I'm open any time after 5:00pm during the week or anytime on weekends. (On a side note, I do have 3/3 off so if we do line up a time that doesn't conflict with the other groups, I'm open all day on 3/3.)

Either works for me Scott

How about the 4th at 5:30 your time, 6:30 colorado, and 8:30 Right coast?

Re: Sugar Swap details
6:30 on 3/4 works for me for the Old Ale swap. However, aren't there 4 of us? I have only received 2 packages so far.

I'm in! 3/4 5:30 PST, 8:30 Eastern.

Scott J,

Which packages have you received? Maybe we need to do some last minute tracking...

We agreed upon 6:00 pm PST (9:00 pm EST), for the golden strong group. March 3rd, looking forward to it!

Re: Sugar Swap details
For the bitter crew:

I think 3/3 is do-able if I start filling within a couple of days. We need one bottle for each and one each for Steve and Brian? Is that right? About 6 - 8 bottles total?

3/4 at 8:30 works for me. Scott, my package(old ale with amber liquid) was delivered on 1/29. I have the tracking # If you need it.

There is no log in, the chat page tells you everything you need to know. Select BBB Chat Room from the left menu.

Scott J,

That's good news! I'm glad to see that you will be tasting the full compliment of beer with us this evening. Luckily enough, the chat room is easy to find...I had to figure it out this morning also...

Re: Sugar Swap details
Yep. I also have 6 of the exact same brandy snifter type glasses that I will use for the tasting so I can compare all the beers at once.

Anyone know if Brian will be in on the chat?

Re: Sugar Swap details
Thats a good question scott.

I would be interested in getting his input. I'd also like to find out where to get more D2. That stuff is awesome and I can't find it anywhere.

What happened when you tried? It has not changed at all in a long time. Did you try to access it from a new location?
