Re: Return of the Bugfarm
That's awesome, and with a minimum of oxygen exchange at this point, too. The beer also seemed to get a bit darker, but I could be hallucinating that. |

>>definitely a snotty thickness to the beer that wasn't there three months or so ago when I tasted it. Anyone experienced this with Al's blend?>>
- You may also see that in the Rodenbugs too. Should go away in a couple of months. |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
As is described by the world's great lambic makers - the beer is sick! No big surprise - the Al blend is doing what the great lambics of the world do. |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
No sickness in the Rodenbugs yet, but it's a couple months behind the Bugfarm beer. Planning on taking some new chips and soaking them in the Bugfarm beer and transferring them to a Brown Saison that I fermented out with Grape Juice and letting it sit for a long time. |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
I have to say, this made (at least) one fantastic beer. Just had a first taste from this old-timer, and my hat is off to AlBruin. |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
I just cracked on of mine, too. VERY complex horsey, poopy (in a good way), and earthy aromatics and flavors. Delightfully puckering sourness. Great blend of bugs, Al! Thanks again. |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
I have a 3 gallon starter made with unboiled wort, seconds runnings from a 50% pils 50% wheat beer.
Any advice on how to use this for a starter? Should I crash first? Or just rack off whatever starter wort I can and then pitch in new cooled Lambic-style boiled wort? |

Re: Return of the Bugfarm
Is there another bugfarm coming anytime soon. I'd love to get in on this and try it. I can send something special or some $$ to get some chips next go around.
I'm a longtime lurker but newbie to posting. I have a 11 gallon split batch I'm doing with Roeselare in 1/2 and WLP Sour Blend in the other and doing an all brett Sebastian type saison next week. Haven't done any sour beers in a few years and want to get back into it now that I have more time.
