Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Wine Barrels in MA
Any one where to get one? I know beer-wine has them for $130 but they aren't guaranteed to hold liquid. Do you know of anywhere else?

Just saw that CBC is selling off some of their barrels, but I imagine they are pretty used up if they are selling them off.

Other than that, you're probably looking at contacting some of the local wineries. We were able to get a rum barrel from Newport Storm, so barrels are out there, you just have to ask the right people, ha.

Ya I saw that post and figured the same things as you, that they have little oak flavor left in them. I sent an email to Will but he never got back to me.

I asked every winery I could think of and no one would sell me one.

Does it have to be a wine barrel? I'm getting ready to head up to Maine and there is a guy up there (Scarborough) offering fresh/wet whiskey barrels for $85. Sounds like he gets them by the truck load. He had 14 last week and was planning on another shipment this week.

Ya I would rather a wine barrel. But I am putting getting a barrel on hold now because I am in the process of getting a house. First things first I guess.
