Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Starter for Pedio
So I ordered some Wyeast Pedio today. Does it need a starter or just pitch as is? It's going in a BSD with Brett B, Allagash Brett, and some sacch strain I haven't settled on yet.

Re: Starter for Pedio
How quickly do you want it to sour? Since I see you're using sacch I assume you will allow it to age for a decent amount of time. So with that assumption I wouldn't make a starter. If you want it to sour quickly like a santificationesque process then you can do a starter. I would buy glucose to grow the pedio up instead of using wort, and you do not areate (you probably know that).

Re: Starter for Pedio
I'm not planning to be in a hurry, but less waiting isn't such a bad thing I guess. I was definitely going to put the Brett and sacc together in primary, wasn't sure about waiting on the pedio for secondary. I'm puttIng several lbs of local figs into secondary.
