Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

Bugs Cultured?
I'd like to get a pack from Wyeast of each Brett, Lacto, and Pedio and make up a growler starter and let each have it's own to grow in. The idea being that they don't need much attention, I could see what each does on their own, and when I wanted to use them (say every couple of months) I could just dump the amount I wanted in the fermenter and add back the appropriate amount of wort.

Has anyone don't this? Will it work?

What temps are right if I just want to hold it. I'm thinking ferment warm and then after a month or three put them in the cooler.

How long will they last? My impression is that they will last a year or so under 50F. Is that correct?

Good question and thinking.

Mike T at the Mad Fermentationist has a great write-up.
