Welcome to the homeBBBrew board!
Like the BBB, the homeBBBrew board is not a club, just a place to talk about making beer. Is there a swap you would like to see happen? If we can find a few others who have something similar then lets do it!

barrel reconditioning
Where is one able to find coopering tools? I have a very old barrel (that my grandparents made wine in back in the 40s) that I am working towards restoring and using. Any ideas on tools?

Re: barrel reconditioning
I saw Vinnie suggested this place for barrel wax (they also have the other gear you need): http://www.barrelbuilders.com/products_cooperage.html

Not sure how possible it is to restore a barrel that old is, but good luck!

Thanks for the link. Now to figure out what some of those things are even...

And use them!

I'm not sure how possible it is either, but in my mind, it is worth it. This barrel has great heirloom qualities.
